Over a Decade Photographing Pacific Northwest Elopements
We’ve been documenting elopements and intimate weddings across Washington and Oregon since 2015. Long before “adventure elopement photographer” became a search term. We shot our first mountaintop ceremony in 2014, and we haven’t looked back.
Our background photographing the Pacific Northwest landscape means we see light and space differently. We bring the outdoors into your story, not just as a backdrop, but as a character. The place you choose matters, and your photos should reflect that.

In over ten years, we’ve photographed hundreds of elopements from the alpine meadows of Mount Rainier to the rugged coastline of Olympic National Park, from sunrise at Artist Point to golden hour in the Columbia River Gorge. We know this region intimately. How light moves through the San Juan Islands, how quickly weather shifts in the North Cascades, or the quiet drama of Deception Pass at dawn.
We’re passionate about capturing the magic of your elopement. Moments and touches that would be considered small on a wedding day are full of love and intimacy during an elopement. We want to transport you back to those moments every time you look at your photos. And of course, we love creating epic images of couples in beautiful landscapes.

It’s overwhelming to figure out what you are supposed to do to get married in the mountains, and they were so incredibly helpful beforehand, walking us through what we should expect day of, timeline, contingency plans for inclement weather, etc. On the day of our elopement, they made our celebration absolutely perfect. They helped us keep a flow that allowed for celebration time with each other and our brothers (and our beloved best dog), but also plenty of time to take incredible photos that truly captured the beauty of our location. The photos took our breath away.
Darryl Ann and Joe photographed our summer elopement and they were an absolute dream to work with! We knew we wanted to have our ceremony someplace in nature with beautiful views but had yet to decide on a location. They listened to our vision and helped us find the perfect spot. They were awesome at guiding us throughout the day, so the photos came out stunning – a mix of lovely portraits and great candids, with many shots that captured the gorgeous landscape, spectacular natural light, and the true essence of the day.

We had Darryl Ann & Joe do our elopement, and they went above and beyond our expectations. The photos were absolutely gorgeous, and they also helped us choose a great location. We will definitely be going back to them for any photos we want done in the future.
Darryl Ann and Joe did an absolutely wonderful job capturing our elopement. They even (very willingly) battled rain and very high tide for us, and yes most of us got hit with a huge wave at some point! They were so much fun to have be a part of our very important day. All of the pictures we got back are so much more than we could have ever hoped for. We got such a big variety and they were all edited beautifully. They captured all of our feelings throughout the day amazingly, I can’t look at the pictures without tearing up! I would one hundred percent recommend Salt and Pine!
